BNamericas´ 2016 Telecom Survey
PRESS RELEASE – Santiago, February 4, 2016 – BNamericas’ annual survey of the Latin American telecom industry found that telecom sector players have adequate capex for 2016, and are investing wisely.
This contrasts with the respondents’ opinion of government telecom sector budgets, which they perceive to be underfunded and poorly planned. Criticism of governments’ project planning was greatest among respondents whose footprint of operations included Brazil. On the other hand, positivity about the private sector was greatest among respondents whose footprint includes Chile.
Our survey also assessed carriers’, suppliers’ and analysts’ stances on issues like network neutrality, over the top (OTT) services and digital terrestrial TV (DTT).
