Indie Food Hub: A unique resource center and community space for independent food producers and consumers

Personal Story

Everything I do is driven by a belief that it’s only through collaboration and creativity that we can build the world we want. Nothing gets better unless we work for it, together. I have a background in human rights activism, so I’m idealistic. But I’m a pragmatic idealist.

Business Description

So, once upon a time, I wanted to start a pop up restaurant in San Francisco. I looked around for my one-stop shopping for resources for small food entrepreneurs, and came up wanting. Thus, the idea for Indie Food Hub was born. We’re creating a unique resource center and community space for independent food producers and consumers, from a diner looking for a supper club to a pop up chef trying to connect with a small farmer for produce. We want to make it more accessible to make and eat better food.

What is the purpose of this loan?

We’re adding capabilities to the website for consumers and producers, which will run around $2,000 or somewhere thereabouts. The remainder of the loan amount will go towards event costs and marketing. This financing will allow us to bring a fully realized, unique resource to a community currently lacking.
