NEW YORK — The Firerock Conference took place Tuesday from 8am to 6pm at The Spring Mills Landmark Building located at 104 West 40th Street in New York City. High-net worth investors, financial professionals and business leaders in New York City were present in this by-invitation-only conference.

Biotech offered promising solutions to early stage cancer detection from Mela Sciences and treatment from Del Mar Pharmaceuticals. Devices designed to facilitate the management and treatment of diabetes from both Oramed and LabStyle Innovations Corp were also highlighted.
Automated retail machines sell a wide array of products such as clothes, gourmet foods, jewelry and high end electronics. AVT showed their new patented technologies, especially on self-service kiosks.
The Medbox caught the interest of the investing community. Developed to dispense medical marijuana, it has special features such as age and identity verification, fingerprint scanning and military-grade steel structure. On the other hand, Gilla, Inc. provided custom turnkey e-cigarette solutions.

Healthcare Fireside Chat was moderated by Alexander Preker, former chief economist for health at the World Bank. John Simon, Les Funtleyder, Nigel Thompson, and Justin Koester served as panelists.
