Pretty Princess Spa Boutique: Designed to grow the princess inside your daughter mentally, physically, and socially
Personal Story

Hi – my name is Maria Venzant. I am a graduate student of UW-Milwaukee. I am a wife and mother of 4. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI but have had the opportunity to live in Georgia and Maryland. Growing up in a city that is a leading city plagued of poverty but blessed to experience other states and different ways of living has shaped my outlook on life.

I have a heart and passion for making an impact on my Milwaukee community, helping anyway I can. I enjoy meeting new people and helping them with their self-esteem and personal growth. I love working with girls and women guiding them along their path of success helping them to see possibility rather than the current situation surrounding the city. I have a vision and will see it come to life through my own entrepreneurial endeavors.

Business Description

Pretty Princess Spa Boutique was designed to grow the princess inside your daughter mentally, physically, and socially. We will achieve this through pampering sessions (kid spa and spa parties), zumba kids’ classes, and princess prep. The business will be offering a complete beauty experience for girls aged 2-16. We will offer an ultra-chic nail bar, facial station, and ultra-comfortable pedicure area with the finest spa linens and equipment. The kid spa will have a separate room for Zumba kids’ classes and etiquette classes. The room will be able to be reserved for parties as well.

I came up with Pretty Princess Spa Boutique while planning a birthday party for my daughter. I have always had a passion for working with girls and saw the opportunity for a kid spa to reach all girls and help them grow in different areas of their life. The idea is to provide them fun and inspiration through the boutique. The employees will be teen girls with the opportunity to grow as well. The teens will go through a six-week training to learn to give basic manicures, pedicures, facials and apply make-up. Classes will be taught by a certified nail technician and certified cosmetologist and the trainees will earn a certificate of completion after their course. The goal is to grow the business into a franchise and impact the upcoming generation.

What is the purpose of this loan?

The loan will help the business get into a building. At the moment, we operate as a mobile spa. Being in a building will increase customers due to the business having the option to have a room for customers to come to versus the business going to customer’s houses. Many customers walk away from the idea due to not having a place to hold the party. It will also give us a place to hold the zumba kids’ classes. We’ll also be able to purchase necessary supplies and improve advertising. Having the loan will help the vision of the company come to life.

The loan will be spent on the following:
Rent – $1800 (Moving into the building January 15, 2016)
Décor and remodel – $1500
Utilities – $200
Spa and party supplies – $600
Advertisement – $600
Staff and shirts – $300
