SpaceTime Tanks – The past, present and future of floating in Chicago

SpaceTime Tanks

The past, present and future of floating in Chicago.

Short Summary

  • Were Eric, Sarah & William, the people of SpaceTime Tanks in Chicago, the longest running floatation tank center in North America (and possibly the world!) After 34 years of providing floating in our Lincoln Park location, we are moving just up the road six blocks, to a new, beautiful and more spacious site- partly because we have outgrown our current space and partly because the building weve been in is actually being torn down! Our fantastic new location is under construction now- we will have a spring 2016 grand re-opening- and this brings us to the point of this campaign.

What We Need & What You Get

  • Our perks are a fantastic way for the float devotee to get in on some great package deals, or, if youre new to it, a nice way to get in for a special campaign-only price and see what its all about. Meeting our goal will determine how many of the new tanks we will be able to begin with at our relaunch and we are so excited to deliver your Inner-Space Observatory experience in incomparable surroundings. Please check out all our perks – theres something for all levels of interest in floating.

The Impact

  • We want to continue to provide the best floatation experience to this wider patronage who are just discovering floating for the first time as well as to continue welcoming our float friends who have been coming to SpaceTime Tanks since 1982. With our new location, we will have a larger facility with more room for both pre- and post-float time, we will be expanding from four tanks to six, and with your support, we plan of having what may be the most advanced float tanks currently being made. While we adhere to the traditional idea of floating & have been successful with it, we are very excited about the advances made in float technology, sterilization & filtration systems.

Risks & Challenges

  • We started floating at SpaceTime in the late 80s and have been devoted fans & advocates since then- so much so that it became our lifes passion & work 24 years ago. Weve always strongly believed in the amazing tool of the floatation tank and have used it to further our personal lives – even during the decades when it sometimes seemed almost no one else did. Despite that, we couldnt have asked for a more rewarding vocation. Just about five years ago, floating took a turn – a sharp, wonderful turn upwards as far as an increase in popularity, media exposure and the awareness by the general public, and this rise in awareness has not showed any signs of slowing down.
  • When the campaign ends in April, we will be contacting all
contributors via email with information on how to redeem their perks. If all goes according to the construction schedule, we will relaunch at
our new location sometime in May. We will be adding updates here.

Other Ways You Can Help

  • We appreciate any level of contribution but even if you can’t contribute, we hope you will share this campaign with your float-curious friends.

Were grateful for all the years of SpaceTime Tanks– all the remarkable people weve met, all the extraordinary experiences weve had & have been able to help facilitate- and we look forward to being the past, present & future of floating in Chicago.

Thank you for your friendship & patronage.
